Ehnes Quartet with guests Michael Tree, viola and William De Rosa, cello
Founded in 2010, the Ehnes Quartet has very quickly established itself in the very top echelon of chamber groups.
In addition to “superstar” violinist James Ehnes, the all-virtuoso group’s members include violinist Amy Schwartz Moretti, former concertmaster of the Oregon Symphony; Los Angeles Philharmonic principal cellist Robert deMaine; and violist Richard O’Neill, a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. This “dream-team” delivers youthful energy, technical brilliance and ensemble precision that super-charge its acclaimed performances of the quartet classics.
In its fourth Miami appearance in as many years, the group will complete its cycle of the three late Schubert Quartets. Additionally, in what can only be described as a “String Summit Meeting,” Schoenberg’s Sextet “Verklarte Nacht” (“Transfigured Night”), on the first half of the program, will enlist two of today’s premier chamber music players, violist Michael Tree and cellist William De Rosa.
