Welcome to our new listening library!

FOCM’s listening library was created to provide our subscribers with a new dimension of access to past and future performances on our series, as well as the Audiofon Records library.

In July 2025, the library will launch with 10 full Audiofon Records albums and several recordings from FOCM’s 2024-2025 season. Each month, we will add more material to the library as we digitize more Audiofon and FOCM recordings.

About the Audiofon Records Library

In the late 1970s, former FOCM president Julian Kreeger partnered with world renowned sound engineer Peter McGrath to form PM&J productions. Under the label Audiofon Records, PM&J recorded and published some of the greatest classical recordings of the 20th century. Many of the musicians recorded would also perform under the FOCM banner in South Florida, including Aaron Rosand (violin), William De Rosa (cello), Joseph Kalichstein (piano), Li Jian (piano), Valentina Lisitsa (piano) and Seymour Lipkin (piano).

When record label Philips compiled its greatest pianists of the 20th century, Audiofon recordings of Earl Wild and Nelson Freire were included in this important box set.

Building the FOCM Performance Archives

The partnership between Julian Kreeger and Peter McGrath extended to FOCM, as Peter has recorded most of the FOCM performances starting the mid 1980s.

FOCM is now just beginning our journey with Peter McGrath and the numerous artists who performed on our series to bring hundreds of hours of one-of-a-kind performances to our new listening library.

Our long-term goal is to bring FOCM’s library to listeners worldwide. Today, FOCM season subscribers will gain access to the audio library. In the future, we hope to make video on-demand performances available and to stream concerts to classical music enthusiasts anywhere in the world while providing revenue sharing with the artists to further support the classical music marketplace.
